Ray Wallis de Vries (they/them) is a crossmedia designer, graduating from AKI ArtEZ in 2025. They are located in Enschede, Netherlands.
Their graduation work “Soiled Origins” is exhibited until July 4th at AKI Finals.
In a society that often strives towards an ideological state of perfection,
Ray entices us to embrace our already complete, normless, dirty being.
Through mixed media, they seek to reconnect us with each other and our surroundings, challenging the viewer to keep questioning the conventional.
In 2023, Ray has interned as a biolab assistant at both Mediamatic, and Waag Futurelab in Amsterdam.
At Waag Futurelab, they have completed their own project, as well as assisting with their annual Biohack Academy course.
